The essence of painting is to describe emotion through color, texture, composition. A person standing in front such art can’t be numb to it’s rhythm, the emotion its unveils.
Painting through passion tends to reveal the artist emotions, fears, loves, wishes leaving him completely naked of his traditional techniques while he’s walking bare footed on glass of uneducated criticism. Building unattainable composition with no firm ground to support you leave the artist all alone in the wild. That’s is safe ground for creation and imagination.
One must be brave to walk this lines.
‘Expressionism’ was a cultural movement, initially in poetry and painting, originating in Germany at the start of the 20th century. Its typical trait is to present the world under an utterly subjective perspective, violently distorting it to obtain an emotional effect and vividly transmit personal moods and ideas. Expressionist artists sought to express the meaning of “being alive” and emotional experience rather than physical reality.
